You know that friend you've had since childhood, the one who knows all your secrets and shares all your inside jokes? Hana is that friend for me. We've known each other since we were babies and we've been best friends our whole lives. She was my maid of honor when I got married, and I am SO EXCITED to be hers when she and Harry get married in August.
We took some engagement photos when I visited LA in September. I just love the light in Santa Monica. And Hana and Harry are so adorable! Congratulations, you two. I can't wait for the wedding!
Meg and Ben are dear friends, so I was thrilled when they asked me to shoot their engagement photos. I have known Meg since college, and I remember not too long ago when she was sitting in my kitchen telling me all about this wonderful guy she's just met. They both went to Columbia Medical School, and believe it or not, they met while delivering a baby together! Meg and Ben share a love of literature, medicine, and the outdoors. He proposed to her on a camping trip, and they will be getting married near Meg's hometown in upstate New York next summer.
Luckily, our shoot was magical enough to suit two of my favorite people. We started out in their book-adorned Upper West Side apartment, then walked to the Hudson River to get some outdoor photos at golden hour. The light was beautiful, but even more excitingly, we found a secluded cherry tree that had just shed all its petals, creating a gorgeous pink carpet on the ground.
My wonderful friends, I'm so happy for the two of you! I can't wait for the wedding!
I've been so behind on my blogging that I didn't get around to posting this engagement session from March! Andrea and Owen are a sweet couple who had some great engagement photo ideas. We started out in the bookstore where they had some of their early dates. Then we headed to Washington Square to shoot some photos of Andrea's adorable vintage bike. And finally, we got some gelato at Amorino.
